Mininova: the dawn of a new P2P

Everybody seems to think that Mininova is dead after turning "legal" allowing only their Content Distribution torrents. I don't think so.

They ripped out the torrents that pointed to commercial and copyrighted music, movies, books and software. Do you really need them? Is it worth to fuel massive corporation's victimhood?

There is a free world of possibilities, as in freedom and, sometimes, as in free beer. A world where you can show your best creations and share them and receiving feedback, suport and even money without bloodsucking companies draining you.

I'm not against you, artist/composer/whatever, making profit of your creation. I'm against the aggressive commodification of culture, locking down any opportunities for truly talented people, in a Middle Age global way of thinking about intellectual property.

I want you to grasp the opportunity to reach more people than never before. You don't need draconian copyright laws to rule your rights. Creative Commons is a great way to do it but not the last one.

You, consumer, check out Mininova again. And Jamendo. These are two examples of this new dawn where you can join, enjoy it and help to reinforce it, spread it and level up culture among everybody without exception.

I'm listening right now Deathalizer's album, It Dwells Within. It just rocks! And I discovered it because Mininova removed all torrents but CD ones.

Join the new dawn of P2P. Seed culture and enjoy it.
